A collection of journeys through China — spanning over 16 years, and the moments, stories, and impressions that stayed.
Over time, it became something more than travel.
What began without much context or expectation gradually turned into a deep connection — shaped by people, time, and a growing familiarity with places and culture that once felt entirely distant and mysterious.
These pages bring together those years: friends, chance encounters, cities, landscapes, and the stories and observations inspired by them.
While more recent journeys now continue on Imagical — across different countries and sometimes along less tangible paths — much of what shaped that way of seeing began here.
I’ll be adding the remaining chapters over the coming months — next up: Kunming, Guilin, Guangzhou, Changsha, Yiwu, and Hangzhou in 2018 — gradually completing the picture.
As long as I’m able, I’ll keep going back — to a country that has profoundly shaped my life in more ways than I could have imagined.
